We can safely say that the 2020-2021 season was unlike any other in our 50-year history. As a chorus, we have committed to taking care of our voices, our projects, our chorus community, and our RVA community.
Our Voices: Members received group voice lessons, theory classes, history sessions, and more, to keep connected to the artwork to which they have dedicated countless years of practice.
Our Projects: We created videos, learned new repertoire, and took advantage of good weather for outdoor popup rehearsals. We also researched and celebrated our 50 years of bringing great choral works to life with the Richmond Symphony.
Our Chorus Community: The chorus took care of each other with online and socially distanced gatherings, care packages, and involvement in Richmond Symphony events. We know that a chorus is more than just a performing ensemble – it is a family. We are keeping the fam together! We're also beginning our grand 50th anniversary celebration – a party that will continue until December 2021.
Our RVA Community: We created music for and with our community. Through shared videos, pop-up concerts, radio appearances, and immersive singing opportunities, we plan to continue to uplift RVA with songs of peace, freedom, and hope.
